Arabic Language Curriculum

Curriculum Details | Four Levels

For students who do not yet recognize the Arabic alphabet and/or vowel markings (Harakaat).

Textbook Used: Noor Al-Bayaan

Topics Covered:

  • Recognizing individual Arabic letters
  • Proper pronunciation of Arabic letters
  • Learning the different forms of Arabic letters (beginning/middle/end of a word)
  • Identifying and pronouncing:
    • Single vowel marks (Harakaat): Fatha, Damma, Kasra
    • Double vowel marks (Tanween): Fathatain, Dammatain, Kasratain
    • Sukoon (ْ) and Shaddah (ّ)
    • Madd (elongation of letters)
  • Early word recognition and formation
  • Basic reading fluency

This level builds the fundamental skills needed to progress into Beginner Arabic.

For students who recognize Arabic letters and vowel markings but have little to no prior knowledge of Arabic words or sentence structure.

Textbook Used: Al-‘Arabiyyah Bayn Yadayk

Building Vocabulary

Grammar Foundations

Practical Conversations & Writing

Assessment & Progression

  • Each unit introduces 30 to 40 new vocabulary words
  • The student must pass 7 exams based on Al-‘Arabiyyah Bayn Yadayk

This level ensures students gain a basic understanding of Arabic sentence structure and essential vocabulary before moving to Intermediate Arabic.

For students who can form basic sentences and have a foundational understanding of Arabic grammar.

  • Each unit introduces 60 to 70 new vocabulary words
  • The student must pass 4 exams

This level develops fluency, grammar precision, and comprehension needed for Advanced Arabic.

For students who have strong comprehension, conversation skills, and grammatical understanding but want to refine their fluency and command of the Arabic language.

Placement & Progression

New students are assessed to determine the appropriate level for them. Each level ensures a progressive mastery of Arabic in four key areas:
