🧩 2. The Learning Experience
Hover over any question below to reveal the details.
How will my child learn at Bayaan Academy?
Bayaan Academy provides a highly interactive virtual learning experience designed specifically for young learners. Lessons are engaging, developmentally appropriate, and combine live teacher instruction with hands-on activities to keep children actively involved throughout the school day.
Our young students actively learn through a mixture of dynamic approaches:
Will my child be expected to sit for long periods?
No. Our schedule is intentionally designed for young learners and includes frequent opportunities for movement and engagement. Instructional blocks are capped at 45 minutes, with 15-minute breaks separating major sessions. Lessons themselves are highly interactive to prevent passive sitting.
To maintain vibrant energy, students regularly pivot into:
Stretching and movement, interactive games, brain breaks, P.E. activities, arts and crafts, simple science labs, hands-on manipulatives, and active story time listening.
What types of hands-on activities will students complete?
Children participate in a rich variety of activities that reinforce classroom concepts while naturally building physical coordination, creativity, and problem-solving skills.
These daily routines include: cutting and pasting, sorting and classifying, color matching, drawing, painting, physical craft projects, math manipulatives, and theme-based science explorations.
Why does Bayaan Academy emphasize hands-on learning so heavily?
Research confirms that young children learn best when they actively explore, create, move, and interact with their physical environment. Our curriculum intentionally balances essential screen-based instructional time with off-screen tactile activities. This balance ensures students securely build core academic strengths while successfully cultivating fine and gross motor skills, personal independence, real communication skills, and inner confidence.
💻 3. Technology & Learning Materials
Hover over any question below to reveal the details.
What technology will my child need?
To participate seamlessly in daily lessons, families should prepare the following hardware access:
- An iPad paired with a responsive stylus (highly recommended), or
- A dedicated personal laptop or desktop computer
- A highly reliable, stable internet connection
- A designated quiet, distraction-free learning environment
📌 Why a Stylus is Essential: We recommend a stylus because early childhood instruction involves heavy digital tracking, letter tracing, freehand drawing, and direct fine-motor interactions with digital worksheets.
Will students use physical notebooks?
Yes. Developing strong handwriting, structural letter spacing, and physical fine motor control is foundational to early education. Students will consistently write, color, trace, draw, sketch, and log work inside notebooks, physical workbooks, and on personal handheld whiteboards throughout the academic school year.
Will there be physical workbooks provided?
Yes. Bayaan Academy provides beautifully designed, proprietary literacy and mathematics workbooks mapped directly to our academic scope. Parents have two flexible fulfillment tracks available:
- Purchase fully compiled, professionally printed Bayaan Academy workbooks directly, or
- Download the comprehensive digital files and print individual units at home
Note: While families preferring a purely paperless option can technically complete workbook activities digitally via a device stylus, we strongly recommend maintaining printed workbooks to support organic muscle memory and fine motor skills.
What basic physical learning materials will my child need?
A formalized, exhaustive supply checklist will land in your inbox prior to the start of classes, but you can confidently prepare your workspace early with these standard essentials:
🌱 4. Parent Partnership & Support
Hover over any question below to reveal the details.
Will a parent need to be present during live instruction?
Yes. Because our students range from Kindergarten through 2nd grade, we expect an active parent, older sibling, or caregiver to be physically available in the home throughout the instructional blocks—especially for our youngest learners.
Parents establish a framework for student success by:
- Assisting with quick technology or login troubleshooting when required.
- Helping young children log into their live virtual classrooms punctually.
- Supporting tactile, off-screen classroom projects and activities.
- Encouraging classroom focus, good posture, and verbal participation.
- Setting out simple physical learning materials before the morning session begins.
As children adapt to the virtual environment and gain confidence over the year, they will naturally become independent and require far less immediate support, but your initial daily partnership is vital.
What is the parent's actual role during hands-on activities?
Because the curriculum emphasizes real-world tactile actions at home, your presence helps smoothly facilitate these lessons safely. This means sorting out requested items before the morning circle, keeping an eye out when children use safety scissors or glue sticks, and offering gentle focus cues.
🔒 Remember: You are the partner, not the teacher. Parents are never expected to prepare lessons or deliver instructional lectures. Our expert online teachers provide all direct academic instruction, while you serve as the on-the-ground partner maintaining an encouraging home classroom space.
