Art Therapy – Project Based Learning

by | May 31, 2025

Mental health is just as important as physical health, especially for young people navigating school, relationships, and personal growth. In Islam, taking care of your emotional well-being is part of honoring the amanah (trust) of your body and soul. When youth are given the right tools and support, they’re better equipped to manage life’s challenges and grow with purpose and peace.

As part of Mental Health Awareness Month, we took time to reflect on how creativity and faith can support emotional well-being, particularly for Muslim youth. Our students were given a task to design a visual therapy program that is simple, easy to navigate, and offers tools for emotional support through introspection and creation.

Today, we are proud to highlight an inspiring art therapy journal created by four of our 9th-grade students. This beautifully designed resource encourages daily reflection, gratitude, connection to the Qur’an, and personal creativity.

Congratulations Mariya Ahmed, Zainab Chaudhry, Aisha Mcmahon, and Aymen Musa on this inspiring product.

This art therapy journal is more than a creative project, it’s a thoughtful tool for anyone seeking a moment of peace, clarity, and spiritual grounding. We encourage you to take a look, use it in your daily routine, and share it with others who might benefit.

Let’s continue to support mental health through empathy, faith, and expression, one mindful page at a time.
