Job Overview:

The Tech Support Specialist will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth functioning of the online learning environment by providing technical support to students, faculty, and staff.

Responsibilities:

User Support: 

    • Assist students, teachers, and administrative staff with technical issues related to the online learning platform, software applications, and hardware.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve problems related to login issues, connectivity, software functionality, and other technical issues.

Software and Platform Management:

    • Provide guidance on the use of learning management systems (LMS), video conferencing tools, and other educational software.
    • Collaborate with the IT team to ensure software and platforms are up-to-date and properly configured.

Device Support: 

    • Offer support for various devices used in online learning, including laptops, tablets, and other electronic devices.
    • Assist in the setup and configuration of devices for optimal online learning experiences.

Communication:

    • Communicate effectively with users to understand and diagnose technical problems.
    • Conduct training sessions for students, faculty, and staff on the use of online learning tools and technology.
    • Develop training materials and resources to enhance users’ technical proficiency.
    • Clear and concise instructions to users for issue resolution.

Collaboration:

    • Collaborate with the IT team to escalate complex technical issues and participate in the resolution process.
    • Work closely with instructional designers and faculty to address technology integration needs.

Qualifications: 

  • High level of trust and ability to work independently 
  • Proven experience in providing technical support, preferably in an educational or online learning setting.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with learning management systems, video conferencing tools, and other educational technologies.
  • Knowledge of common operating systems and software applications.
  • Related certification and coursework
